The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our small finance team in a crucial role in the team, looking after the general ledger and regular reporting for WRc PLC. Production of timely, accurate monthly management accounts is an essential part of the role. The role also has a significant part to play in strengthening the company’s control environment and ensuring the integrity of all financial reporting

In addition to the above, there will be significant involvement in:

  • Preparation of Year end statutory accounts including a small Group consolidation
  • VAT and other financial reporting
  • Cash management
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Process improvement
  • Performance reporting and analysis, interrogation and development of MI

We are a team of 6 covering a wide range of finance activities and therefore the role provides an excellent grounding for a professional career in finance. A positive attitude, desire to learn new skills and willingness to cover the roles of others is essential. The role reports to the Head of Finance.

Job requirements

About you

You will have at least a year’s previous finance experience. Ideally you will be a university graduate or equivalent. You will likely be studying towards a professional finance qualification such as ACCA. You’ll want to have a positive impact on those around you and to contribute to making the department more efficient and effective. In addition you will:

  • Possess excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel required, Access desirable)
  • Have previous working knowledge of finance systems. (Ideally Epicor)
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • See finance as your future career path and show a desire to achieve progress in your chosen career
